Wow, people this isn't affecting anyone except Valve. They don't get the profits from releasing on the PS3, yet PS3 owners can still get access to their games through steam on the PC. They are the only ones who really lose in the end.

If PS3 owners buy Valve games on Steam, then Valve will have lost no profits from not porting to the PS3.  They will have simply gotten it through a different channel.  The only lost revenue would be from people who would have bought a Valve game on PS3 if it were available, who would NOT have otherwise aquired it on PC.  I'm guessing (and believe that Valve feels the same way due to the way they are operating) that this group of gamers is small.

Sure, Valve could port games to please these people and make a little money off of it, but the issue is still return on investment.  Valve believes that they can make MORE money by using the funds/resources that PS3 ports would require on other projects.
