I thought Cross Edge got poor scores in Japan as well.

It isn't gettiing poor scores because it looks dated or because it is overly Japanese.  It's getting bad scores because it sucks.  (Cross Edge)

Well Cross Edge didn't review well, but not as badly as in the States.

awww....I was honestly hoping for some actual numbers, I tried to look up the Famitsu or Dengeki reviews but I couldn't find them.  I'm curious at the difference.

Famitsu gave it a 23/40.
