| TheSteve said: You guys that are defending SixAxis by naming a single forgetable part of a handful of games are actually making the OP's point for him. I hope you're trying to be ironic with your "there's one power in InFamous that uses it!! It totally couldn't have been done with the analogue sticks!! What about when you walk on the log in Uncharted!!! Or those two shooting segments in Heavenly Sword (which, admitedly, were fun...)!!" It was pointless, tacked on, and often less functional then simply doing it with the analogues either in games with that option or in the 360 version of the game. |
How can you admit that using it in a particular game was fun then say that it was pointless? If it added enjoyment to the game then it was not pointless. With your argument, in essence, you could say all facits of a game are useless in and of itself. The thumbstick is pointless, you can use the D-pad. The shoulder buttons are pointless you can use the face buttons. Voice acting is pointless you can just use text...
In my opinion the break up of action that the shooting segments brought to Heavenly sword made that game much more enjoyable. They were fun by themselves and it made the boss battles and the journey battles much more enjoyable and much less monotonous. They could have broke the action up with another form of a mini game, but the shooting was very enjoyable and pretty unique for it's genre.
Also motorstorm uses the sixaxis controls and it is pretty fun driving off road with the controls. It also makes the game much more challanging. I can only imagine if they still use it in pacific rift racing your friends using the motion controls. That's just another game on the growing list that uses the sixaxis controls nicely.
