I certainly agree, that in the beginning it felt very tacked on, and it was pretty much just useless.
But since then, there have been several games that actually had good use of it, whether you like it or not, and the point we're making, is that this will probably continue to happen.
Yes, all those things could have been done with the regular controller options, but what argument is that, when the Sixaxis has done some of these things better than the regular controls would?
Therefor, no it isn't just dead weight any more. There are actually games out there that make good use of it, and improves the game by using them.
