It's apparent that the individuals stating Valve is a crap designer are totally biased and have zero business sense.
It's not Valve's fault that Sony created a platform that's counterproductive to develop on, whether intentional or unintentional.
Why would anyone want to work with an inefficient architecture? That's additional cost for the sake of what?
Sony created a console this gen that is too expensive from every aspect. Even the development is resource intensive with a learning curve.
It was smart of Microsoft to create a platform with an architecture so close to the PC. It's idiotic to blame the developers for Sony's poor business model.
Valve's purpose is to provide high quality entertaining gaming experiences...it has decided that the 360 and the PC are the platforms of choice for this goal...which will ultimately result in profits. There is no benefit to Valve catering to the PS3...which is the most expensive to develop for and has the smallest market share.
I'm not a fanboy, I just try to tip the balance in favor of logic and common sense.
