| Snesboy said: Mario Kart Wii has motorcycles. Smash Brawl has Sonic. Project HAMMER has been cancelled. Disaster Day of Crisis looks like crap. Brawl is delayed.
Is this really a good time to be a Nintendo fan? HELL NO! I must be the only one who thinks that Sonic in Brawl is a bad idea. Why? Just look at ALL of his games since 2001. They have been complete and utter crap. The last good Sonic game was Sonic Adventure. While there have been a few exceptions over the past 6 years (Sonic and The Secret Rings and Sonic Rush for Wii and DS respectively) there really hasn't been anything good from Sonic Team. Granted, most people would ignore this fact considering that everyone has wanted to pit Mario against Sonic since the Genesis days. But I feel that Sonic in Brawl would just tarnish the games image. Sure most people won't even realize it until they have bought it, but that doesn't matter because Nintendo already made a profit off the game.

Next Point:
Mario Kart Wii. Honestly, they get rid of the excellent two characters per kart from Double Dash!! and replace it with motorcycles? That is just lame! I just don't like the idea of motorcycles in the game. Sure it's neat but as a legitimate vehicle? No way. I wish they kept the double characters in a kart from the GCN edition of Mario Kart. If they don't fix that damn "snaking" bullshit, then I am going to be super mad. I think that "snaking" stuff is cheap, in DD!! you had to be a good driver and skilled with items in order to win.

Third Point:
Why did they cancel Project HAMMER? That game looked awesome. It looked like so much fun!!! Anyone else agree with me?
Fourth Point:
I don't know if you have seen the new screenshots for Disaster but they look like an early GameCube game. They are honestly that bad. I hope the graphics shape up in time for final release (like what happened with Prime 3 and how they got super good a month before it came out). But I worry about the graphics if those represent the final game (which they probably won't). From the other things I have seen from the game though, it looks really neat.

Last Point:
I don't know if you noticed, but the release date for SSBB has changed from December 3, 2007 to TBD. I would worry about the development if I were you.

First point: The quality of Sonic games has nothing to do with Sonic. It has to do with the design teams. SSBB is Nintendo from the ground up. There is next to nothing that this game has in common with the Sonic franchise except the main character. This will no more be like another Sonic game than SSBM was a game and watch game.
Second point: So you like the motorcycles, but don't want them as legitimate vehicles? Then what do you want them as? Speed bumps? As for the double character thing, it was fun, but it was also done. I don't think it should have become a permanant fixture of the series. I'm glad they're trying something new.
Third point: Games get canned/shelved all the time. Figure they invested many, many thousands of dollars into the game. They wouldn't shit can it for no reason. Don't go just by how it looked - you didn't play the game. You don't know how good or bad the thing really was.
Fourth point: Huh. A Wii game with GameCube graphics. Color me surprised. Even so, it is an early build. I recall many people being unimpressed with early shots of MP3 too. Wait to see it real, live, and fininshed before rendering a verdict. And whatever happened to gameplay being more important than looks (you know, the company motto)?
Fifth point: Nintendo delayed a game? Gee, alert the media. If you compiled 2 lists of all Nintendo games, the "delivered on time" list would be far, far shorter than the "delayed" list. If you are the Nintendo fan you claim to be, you would know this is not only SOP, but in the long run will result in a better gaming experience.
