And here comes the creationist:

Only if you are debating with a person who asserts that God does not exist. If you are the one saying God exists, then it certainly is your task in a debate to prove that your assertion is right.
"Evolution" -- that is, the scientific theories about the evolution of forms of life into other forms of life -- is in no way a religion, and the fact that you say it is a religion betrays a fundamental (or should I say fundamentalist?) lack of understanding of science. Evolution does not even "reject God as the creator of all things"; it only rejects the literal creation event described in Genesis.
There wasn't really much of a "scientific world" at the time of the Bible, and the Greeks believed the world to be round back at least as far back as 500 BC without any helping hints from the Old Testament. India, too.
For every scientific truth in the Bible there are a dozen things it gets wrong. I don't hold this against the Bible because it is not in fact a science book, but don't pretend it is 100% correct in matters of fact. It is not. Even most religious leaders acknowledge this and hold it up only as a spiritual guide.
God created this world. Period!
I think you know only the lies you have been fed about what evolution is.

The "explanation" he has to do is that "6 billion years old" is an outdated number that was replaced by the current approximation of about 4.6 billion years. Also keep in mind that this figure is for when the planet began forming, before it even had a solid surface!
The sun is NOT shrinking significantly; in fact it has remained about the same size since early in its 'life', but it will very slowly get bigger on its way to becoming a "red giant", as many stars do later in 'life'. The way stars "die" depends on how you want to count "death" and how big it is. Our star will enter the "red giant phase", which consists of a very large outer sphere around a small core. This will end when the core eats itself up to the point that the outer sphere just drifts off into space. What is left will be a "white dwarf", which is a very small, very dense remnant which will basically just sit there getting gradually colder until the star is completely dead.

Another thing. What is the evidence that the earth is that old??? As far as I know it does not exist, or you would have so clearly stated if for us.
I think it's pretty ironic that someone so clearly ignorant expects some random forum poster to be an expert on the geological and astronomical history of the Earth and solar system, and also make the time to expain it in small words and short, fundamentalist-compatible sentences. We don't KNOW that the Earth is 4.56 billion years old; it didn't leave a birth certificate. But some educated guesses have been made by some very educated people, based on what we have seen in the stars and on our mathematics and on our computer models and on the geological history that we DO know.
By the way, I learned all this in high school science. I guess you were too busy reading the Bible to pay attention, though.

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.
