Sorry, I have never accepted that premise. The upgrade from GCN-> Wii, whiile not as significant as PS2 -> PS3, is significant nonetheless. Add in the change in interface, storage medium, and internet access, and it is at least as different from the GameCube as the DS was from the Game Boy SP.

DS -> DSi is about the same. The differences are extremely minor technically in the hardware. The Wiis design may very well have been an existing GC slim design with a few changes. The Wiimote itself was designed initially for the gamecube as an accessory. Its the same hardware essentially used in a different way. To the consumer however it is completely different because of the whole package which Nintendo presented them.

@FinalFan: We should not condone prejudice between our console and handheld brethren. We must treat them as equals.
