This holiday is going to be a big step toward the end of the format war. HD DVD has Paramount/Dreamworks on its back now and a player that is only $179 out for the holidays. Quality is near identical and HD DVD discs are less expensive with somewhat better menus. With Sony's PS3 woes and Blu-ray cost, storage capacity aside, looks like it could go either way.

Your right, but the problem is, there are I think, dont quote me, under 1million stand alone HD players... worldwide, BOTH formats.

I dont care what HD-DVD does, unless they get to mass market (sub 100$USD) and BluRay is still above 300$, then they might have a chance. But it's not gonna happen. BluRay is slated to win this war already. If the PS3 was the only BluRay player, I would still say, Bluray has already won.

Hey its kwaad. So now that BR isn't leading HDDVD like it used to it's all irrelevant now because the market is so small. Isn't that what more sane less Sony fanboyish people were saying back when BR supporters were dancing on HDDVD's grave a couple months ago? I'll agree with you this time, it doesn't matter much. When annual HDDVD+BR movie sales can surpass the single day sales of major DVD titles then we can maybe talk about which is ahead.

wtf are you talking about, months ago the SAL ratio was worse (see my above post for some actual FACTS why dont you) BD supporters have been chiming in that teh PS3 factor is real and thats hwy we see increased software ratios, yet Toshiba and HD DVD liek to leave the PS3 out as if its a non factor.

the general public never even KNEW that BD SAL's took over the ratio until today when the DVD forum announed HD DVD "regained" the lead. You have no ****** clue what youre talking about, you just want to try to jump on the bandwagon here and try to belittle kwadd and hat eon Sony, its funny because you have NO IDEA what youre even argueing, all you know is that its cool to make fun of the PS3, BD and Sony here so you jump all over it.

Youre argueing that this news is GOOD for HD DVD when the announced ratio have DECREASED since april DRAMATICALLY...youre oblivious and its realy really sad/funny.
