A common misconception being made. Many people are saying the Canadian dollar isn't rising the US dollar is just falling. Well while the US dollar is actually falling it is also true that the Canadian dollar is on the rise it is making gains on the Euro dollar and Great British pound which has nothing to do with the US dollar falling.
As for our taxes its true that their are higher taxes in Canada however that does not excuse a huge price gouge. Most of the products arrive in Vancouver straight from Japan.
As for the gradual change the Dollar has been far higher then 80cents since about 3-years. No I don't expect the changes to have happened over night but its been growing for three years now and the archaic pricing hasn't changed at all. Our dollar hasn't been worth the dismal 80cents for a good year or two infact i would say since three years ago but I'm not 100%. Fact is even if the Canadian prices weren't exact theirs no way they should be any more then 5% higher at max.
As for the Canada bashing and US bashing. Insulting one anothers countries only leads to retalitory insults and only furthers anti-semetic ideals in one anothers nations. Canadians already despise Americans and Americans already despise Canadians enough. Fact is both of our countries are different I could argue that Canada is a far better country then the US and I'd have the facts to back it up. At the same time you could argue the US is better and have some facts to back that up too.
Fact is fighting on who's country is superior is completely and utterily pointless. Fact is Canadians are being ripped off regardless of whether our country is inferior or superior it doesn't matter.
Also as for the market size while its true that the US market is far larger the Canadian market sells more copies per capita then the US. So their is still no excuse would the industry take any hits if they were to drop the Canadian prices in line with the dollar?
