All HD does is enhance the graphics on each console the PS3 and X360. So if you want HD get it, but its nothing significantly different.
Just looks much prettier on a good HDTV set, more detail and sharper image quality. Current PS3 games seem to have been designed to look good on ordinary TV sets as well.
