I tried. After getting the flashing home icon like 3 times while trying to find a skip button... I gave up and wandered away.
As for better than ToS... I guess it was. The ToS cast was better in ToS2. They removed a lot of the problems they had back in the first game. Plus ToS2 featured more Regal.
