And what do you see in that action? That Iwata understands and repects what Apple has accomplised, that Nintendo and Apple are secretly planning a merger, that he secretly considers it no competition (but is too polite to say so) or something else?
I enjoyed the interview, Iwata has done wonderful things for Nintendo, and things have only gotten better since he took over, IMO.

Because he's aware of potential threats and is not sitting on his laurels. That he's considered many different angles from which one can think about the position his company is in.
I agree that he's the best thing to happen to this company in a long time.
