If you read my thread on the subject (aqui), you find that many members of the Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion team (formerly R&D1, before that department was dissolved. My bet is that they're in Nintendo Software Planning Development, the group that aids in collaborations with other companies) are working on this. I will grant that Metroid Fusion definitely showed Samus as somewhat more feminine and vulnerable, but i doubt they'll really abuse it.
Basically, this game should be closer to Metroid than Metroid Prime (the best game of all time)
