1. Cleveland can pay him the most.

2. Few teams are positioned to have enough money to imrpove in 2010 like Cleveland will. The cavs would have enough money to pay Lebron and get a couple of other stars like Amare and Carmelo unless they overreact and overpay someone this offseason.  Clevland has very few bad contracts... and they're all expiring soon.  If he signs early in 2010 for the max... they'll probably at least get Amare or Bosh... and Carmelo isn't out of the question.

3. Where would he even go? New York is often talked about but they're a mess and will be in 2010.

4.  The cavs just got some Chinese investors so it's a good way to increase your international appeal, and cleveland will be willing to push the cap as high as possible and take on some luxuary tax.
