The wands are definitely going to be cheaper than $50.  The Wiimote has an infrared camera in each Wiimote, along with accelerameters.  And the WiiMotion+ adds some gyroscopes.  On the other hand, the wands are just accelerameters and gyroscopes, as well as whatever the ball is.  I'm guessing the ball is nothing, just a bright colored ball for the PS Eye to track.

So you tell me, is it cheaper to have the camera on each controller, or to just have 1 camera to manage all the controllers?

in the case of it being a Wiimote..then no cam would be best

the wands..you need two..so it will probably still cost more to geta  set of wands..
