Why should Nintendo give up sales of a game by bundling it?

It is not like all those interested are not going to buy the NSMBW. And it is not like Wii sales are doing poorly compared to the other consoles.

Nintendo is a company and it makes decisions to make money and it generally makes the right decisions. It has not had to layoff/declare redundant thousands of employees like the large corporations that compete with it in video games. So I think I will trust its judgment here.

Personally, I would not be surprised if Wii Sports Resort becomes the next bundled game before the holiday season -- which would put WM+ in each new buyers' hands.

Because Wii Sports is arguably the more popular game. People will want wii sports regardless of whether it comes with the system or not. It has that name recognition and it's based around stuff that adults like, and it's superficial. Plus it will help sell additional controllers.

If, like that other thread about disruption, Nintendo wants to capture the entire market, they will need to offer NSMB bundled, simply for the fact that it has a higher saturation if bundled, which equals stronger connection.

Right now, wii sports is synonymous with the wii. People think of the little mii's when they think of Nintendo. (not people like me of course, but the expanded audience). The problem is, mii's don't have personality save for the personality that the gamer gives them. That paints the wii as "sterile" (no pun intended).

Putting WM+ in a new bundle gives added value through variety, but it does not encourage M+ adoption. It's just different. There will be no difference between a person who bought a wii for wii sports and wii fit and a couple mini-games titles, and the person who did the same but got WSR instead. That is truely a lost sale.
