I have to add that the wii is perhaps a special case. I think this may stem from the fact that it was built to please everyone. The problem with this ideology is that nothing can please everyone. In most cases, what is really needed is a means of convincing people that they're pleased whether they may be really pleased or not. One way to do this is to show that other people are in love with the product whether that is true or not because human nature tends to "follow the crowd"

Thus, a product that's built to please everyone ultimately pleases no one leaving behind lots of detractors who consider themselves tricked, the other side who think everyone else has gone mad and the last side who really believe it's the best thing ever. However, it's in the best interest and the dream of every business to create a uniform audience and I must say that the capitalists have been doing a pretty good job at it.

"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler
