I was intrigued by your statement so checked one Title "Taken" on the UK Amazon site, the result.
DVD - £6.98
BR - £17.68
US Amazon
DVD $14.99
BR $24.99
On the basis of that result I would suggest it is more than a few notes.

Sure if you only want the standard edition DVD for Taken yes, but the Blu-ray has the extended version, which the extended version DVD is 22.99 compared to 24.99.
