Ya know, it should really be a sign to people that the 360 is the most commonly hacked hardware of the current gen and it still has the highest attach rate. It's almost as if *gasp* piracy has no real effect on sales!

Frankly, the largest number of pirates are people in third world countries that simply couldn't afford the games to begiun with.  Some of these people save for a year just to buy the hardware and still have to skip a few meals to get it.  In reality, if the PS3 were hacked it would increase sales in these regions while sales wouldn't drop perceivably in richer areas.

Sure, there's a lot of piracy in this world and if all of those copied games were real devs would be rolling in cash, but the reality is that even if piracy were stamped out completely the devs wouldn't get rish all the sudden.  The very large majority of pirates do so simply because they can't afford the product.  Maybe they shouldn't have ti to begin with, I'm not making any moral judgements though.  The pure and simple fact is that whether they have it or not, the devs are not going to suddenly earn more money.  It's as simple as that.
