I think its too late in the life cycle for these types of things. PS3 will be almost 4 years old, the 360 almost 5 years old by the time they get around to releasing this stuff. Wii will be past 75 million in install base by then.
All this does is perhaps accelerate Nintendo to release a HD version of the Wii, which is probably good for everyone.
