It isn't an issue of either SONY or Microsoft making the motion sensing their "mainstay" - it's an issue that both of them have to broaden by making their console more accessible to non-core gamers.
I don't think either of them are going to shoe-horn core games into a control scheme which doesn't suit the game, but something like Wii Sports is an example of the type of game (and customer) they can attract with the motion control.
Summary: both with continue to have controller-based core games and will widen out to capture the casual gamers with a whole new set of games to take advantage of the new scheme. They are additions, not replacements.
