Rising could be better than MGS4, for all you know. Degrading it before you know anything about it can only be due to alterior motives, no matter what the subject.

How am I degrading it? Just because it's a spin-off doesn't mean it's bad or somehow less worthy. I watched the Buffy TV Show but I liked it's spin-off Angel more, whether it is a spin-off or not is irrelevent.

In fact, in the lead up to E3, I was hoping that the announced game would be a Raiden spin-off.

You're right he was one of the co-main characters in MGS2 and if they switch the name the MGS5: Rising, I'll call it a sequel.

EDIT: I'll elaborate further, if Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was just called MGS: Snake Eater, I would have also considered it a spin-off.

I didn't mean you directly, I meant people in general who degrade it. I just worded that wrong. People use "spinoff" to marginalize this announcement, and have since it was announced.
