I see a lot of conflicting inforamation lately ( the HD is winning, NO NO the blu-ray is) so just to clarify things, the blu-ray is dominating in the USA, and HDVD in Europe.

This is apparantly b/c of Toshiba's discount on its HDVD player, as the Europeans don't have as high income as the americans, and they would be much more likely to just want the cheapest offering..... sony needs to get its stuff in gear if it having dominance in only America isn't "just good enough"
