Well that was last gen. And looking on the sales of all the other big games for PS3 you can be sure that GT5 wont sell more then Halo3 does/did if it launches this year.
GT4 on PS2 came out when the install base was huge and the competition was dying. No they're last, MS will have pushed 2 Forza games and with a much smaller base.
GT5 will be huge but do not look at it as a saver.
Predictions for 2009:
360: 39-42 PS3: 31-34 Wii: 67-70
Future projection
Wii will hit 100 million before christmas 2010 (made december 2008)
NDS Family will have sold and shipped more then PS2 at the end of 2009 (made january 2009)
