In terms of sales, FFXIII will destroy Mass Effect 2 by almost every measure available. In terms of quality, it is quite possible that ME2 will be comfortably superior, though no Sony fan would EVER admit it.

It doesnt take to be a Sony fan to not admit that.

Put it this way.  Mass Effect has an aggregate score of 91, whereas each of the last two main story FF's got a 92.  The one before that got an 85.

Mass Effect had MASSIVE technical issues and STILL got that awesome score.  It is quite possible there will be an upset.

Do you honestly believe that 1 or 2 points of metascore somehow support your position? Really?

I'm sorry.  I bow completely to whatever equally objective but more valid tool of comparison you are about to present to us...

You know, the funny thing is that I can use your logic and still win this argument. Final Fantasy XII is a better game than Mass Effect, check the metascore.

And I dont think that there is any objective tool of comparison at all. But if millions of gamers will chose FFXIII over Mass Effect 2 - it gotta mean something.

I'm sorry?  What relevance do the previous games in each of the series have to the next iterations?  If you want to look at it that way, you could say that FF is trending down, whereas ME is holding steady.

As for the second bit?  That logic fails hard.  Try telling it too all the hardcore PS3 fans that see their exclusives get pawned in sales by the Xbox 360's exclusives time and time again.

But following that logic, you realise the first Final Fantasy sold only a few hundred thousand copies originally, compared to the first Mass Effect on 2 million...

Previous iterations are good indicators of how next ones will turn out. It is kinda obvious, dont you think?

Really starcraft, what are you trying to prove here? And most importantly - how? It doesnt matter what kind of "tool of comparison" we use to determine which game is better - Final Fantasy wins.

- It sells more

- it scores better in reviews

- vgchartz users are excited for it much more than for Mass Effect 2

- research I posted suggests that X360 owners in North America are more excited for FFXIII than Mass Effect 2

Really, how are you going to prove that Mass Effect is "objectively" better? The only thing that is left for you is to claim that your opinion is the only "objective tool of comparison" we can use. And that isnt true, I hope you understand this.
