Wii owners getting a replacement Wii from Nintendo have had their VC games and other data transfered over so a transfer feature must exist. I'd imagine it's simply a matter of updating the Wii firmware prior to the release of the new console to allow a user to input the console ID number of Nintendo's new console into the Wii which will allow you to transfer via Wi-Fi to the new console. It's limited to just the one console ID to keep people from transfering VC games to multiple new consoles. |
But then someone could put in someone else's console ID.
I think the next Nintendo machine is going to require authentication at Nintendo.com to access your VC library.
They revamped it a lot since the last time I was there so it looks like they're working on improving it.
