This Metacritic turmoil is absurd.

If the game gets good reviews, then people who like the game insist Metacritic is a reasonable and objective analysis of the game. If the game gets, say, 85 or below, clearly Metacritic is biased and its trash and games journalism sucks.

I think it would be silly to believe that games journalism is an objective industry, given what we know (the sorts of financial pressures game companies put on them, like Sony cancelling their inFamous review or Ubisoft delisting EGM after their Assassin's Creed review, or providing "exclusive" reviews to preferred outlets), but at least that's a consistent position. Either state that Metacritic IS an objective outlet -- in which case you'll agree that inFamous is a good, but not great game -- or that Metacritic is not an objective outlet.

What you can't do, however, is trumpet Metacritic when it suits your interest , then claim bias and omg Metacritic sucks the second it turns against you.
