It should be a game based in the Mario world. It should have exclusively Mario-related characters.
SSX is not that...Mario just makes a cameo. SSB is close, but not a Mario game either...the Mario franchise is simply the biggest Nintendo franchise, and having a lot of Mario characters is obviously expected.
Soul Caliber 2 is not a Zelda game...nobody ever calls it a Zelda game...even if Link makes a cameo.
There's a difference between a game in the franchise, or characters from a franchise appearing in other games.
