I am tired of this. It's his opinion. If he thinks FF7 is the greatest FF we can't change that.

It was more pointed towards he is trying to link Versus to 7 when Nomura had more of a character creation role then anything.  Which he is doing 13 as well, since Nomura pretty much does character design on just about every Final Fantasy game.  (which truthfully is getting on my nerves, not because it's Nomura or anything but not everything needs belts, zippers, spikey/emo hair with a depressed attitude) :P
