Only ninty will move to HD with their next console and that would only bring it on par with the current HD consoles. Developers don't have time or moeny for more elaborate titles at the moment so a new control method that is better than the Wii's will be what the next gen will be about. And don't forget, the high price of an ultra powerful 360 will be higher than that of the PS3.5 ... |
We must not forget that the industry is super competative. This is why we see all the back and forth trash talking. I would not be surprised if one of the companies released a console just to beat the other one. As sales begin to stagnat, we'll see pressure from both companies to release a new unit before the other has a change. It will be a literal race. I suspect Microsoft to make the first move. Sony is focused on profits, so they want to make the PS3 profitable instead of making a PS4.
EDIT: I started this post before Viper made his comment, but he hits a cord that many have forgoten. All industries are driven by consumers. The game industry tends to forget this.
