Yeh cos consoles don't crash or have bugs or need patches or RROD..........oh wait.

I can't see how people could seriously compare the level of bugs and patches on console games to PC ones.  The fact is that the PC platform is an open one which means that anyone can release anything regardless of its quality.  I've bought PC games that literally didn't work from the get-go or had an amount of bugs that made finishing them a chore or impossible.  I remember buying a game called Dungeon Lords because I was a fan of the designer and feeling like I was ripped off because the game was basically in an early beta stage.  Take a look at its Wikipedia page if you want to see what kind of game some companies release.  It's the first game I ever threw in the garbage rather than giving it away for free.

That's just an example of a game that actually worked.  I can list others that didn't work at all with one graphics card or another that I had over the years that made PC gaming truly guesswork and annoying at times.  The worst part is that for some reason I was continually fooled when I bought games and always expected them to work with no problems.  This was especially the case when I had a very common videocard, an ATI 9800pro, and couldn't imagine any company not making sure it ran with that card which was about as standard a gaming graphics card as you could get at the time.  Also this wasn't just with my own computer, I used to have to get them to work on other computers as well (uncles, friends, etc).

Don't get me wrong, when PC games work they can be amazing.  I think about 8 of my top 10 favorite games of all time are on PC.  What annoys me though is when those praising PC games and having an open platform refuse to acknowledge that it also has some weaknesses.
