Your correlation is incredibly dubious.

A number of reasons, not the least of which is that many now view dual analog as the optimal shooter controls, due to their balancing of flexibility and ease of use.

Another of course is piracy, and the overall gaming shift in the shooter category (at least high-budget ones) too consoles.
