Two of the greatest Japanese composers of our time.  One, I'm sure you've all heard of.  His name is Koji Kondo, the mind behind most of the awesome Nintendo themes we all hold dear and know by heart.  There's the Super Mario Bros. Theme, that I'm sure you all know.  There's the Zelda theme, which still gives me goosebumps every time I hear it, and there's the countless other songs he's still cranking out.  A couple of his songs from imeem:

Zelda (Orchestral) -

Egg Galaxy - Nintendo

Then, there's Joe Hisaishi.  I'm sure not as many of you know him, but a good chunk should.  He's the man behind the music in all of the Miyzaki movies.  From Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind to Spirited Away to Howl's Moving Castle to Princess Mononoke, he did it all.  He's incredible.  Here's a few pieces of his work:

Which one's your favorite?

Honestly, despite 13 years of Nintendo, Joe Hisaishi is beyond amazing to me.  No disrespect to Koji Kondo, but Hisaishi is the better composer.
