They never said anything of the sort. All they said was:

1) They did not make the console in the picture

2) They do not comment on rumours and speculation.

How does that deny a PS3 Slim? Especially seeing as they've replied to all recent price cut rumours with "There is no price cut planned"?

They didn't even say this. When they said they didn't know anything about those photographs, they could have just meant "We haven't yet discovered which soon-to-be fired employee leaked those photographs."
