we see new core games(there's no such thing as hardcore game cause game cannot be devoted to itself) cause core games are selling very good which means there's a market for them(new NFS game is core title on the wii no matter what people say).

and yes core games are selling on the wii - wii games don't need to sell in millions to bring developer/publisher profit - most of wii projects have less than 8mln$ as a whole budget for the game development and advertisment. the biggest wii projects had 13mln$ so far for the whole budget. average ps360 game have 30-35mln$ budget just for development costs while biggest ps360 projects have 70+mln$ development costs. see the difference?

Can you give me the source of your information about game budgets?

Maybe avarage Wii game budget is 8mln$ but avarage Wii game looks like ps2 or old xbox game.

well you can often find many development costs for specific games(not average).

i remember that Turok development costs were 20mln$,

GTA4 budget was 100mln$(it was even said on vgchartz in one of the old news),

Sony CEO said in one of the interviews(after LBP went gold) that their biggest ps3 games have to sell 1mln$ to break even and start making profit,

ubisoft offers only average 3mln$ for development costs for ds game and 5-6mln$ for wii games(it was stated in interview when they said that they are funding hd projects from wii and ds games profit),

Halo 2 development budget was about 24mln$,

besides just look at the fact how many people work in some of the development studios known for making biggest games this gen:

Assassin's Creed development team - 450people(on single game!),

EA Canada - 1000+people working currently on Sims 3,

EA Digital - 200+ people(Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 1943),

EA Montreal - 700 people(NFS Nitro, Spore Hero, Army of Two 2),

Guerilla games during Killzone 2 development had almost 500 people working on this game in crucial moments,

Rare - 200+ people(working currently on 2 projects),

oh andaverage ps2 development budget WAS about 5-8mln just like average wii game now so no wonder they look like ps2 games.
