Worse than that was waiting 30 seconds for Firefox to load (it's been getting more and more sluggish).

Cleaning the History helps a lot with this problem. This archive can reach sizes of several hundreds of megabytes, making the loading and closing of firefox really sluggish.

I see. But to load / go through the whole history at startup is just bad programming that I won't put up with if possible.
