I haven't read the entire thread yet, so maybe someone has already brought this up, but I could not let such injustice pass by without notice.
In sheer units sold, then yes, Gamecube is "more failed" than PS3. Difference is, Gamecube made a very healthy profit throughout it's entire life and made Nintendo almost as much money as the PS2 made Sony. The PS3 so far has been nothing but loss. You might want to re-evaluate your judgement of "success" and "failure".
