Yeah, Nintendo is bad at marketing games... Compare the first party games salewise of Nintendo and Microsoft.
How much did wii fit sell? 17M? How much did Mario kart wii sell? 15m?
What's the best selling game of Microsoft? Halo?
Nintendo was dissapointed with the sales of zelda and super mario galaxy and they almost sold as much. Tells you something about marketing, doesn't it :)
