That's pretty much what I was getting at.  The Wii shouldn't be all that difficult to program for graphically.  Why is it then that there are so few graphically standout titles?
There's two explanations here. Feel free to choose your favorite.

1. Developers aren't focusing on pushing the Wii graphically, like they often didn't with the Gamecube and often don't with the PS360 combo.

2. IGN's understanding of graphics primarily involves shiny baubles and stretchy things like those found in the Metroid Prime trilogy.
