Exactly Akuma. This really isn't a big issue at all in my view.

I think most potential PS3 buyers are already PS2 owners. In which case they can still keep their PS2 if they want to play old games, or simply move on and sell their PS2.

For instance, I never played a PS1 game on my PS2, and haven't so far, played a PS2 game on my PS3.

Also the option is still there for European buyers to buy a 60GB version with BC.

And the obvious answer to this thread: they done it to cut costs.

I applaud them for finally managing to bring the price down to 400 euro.
