I replay old RPGs for the same reason I re-read my sci-fi/fantasy books every couple years. I get to re-experience it mostly as if I had never played the game before. I don't do nostalgia so that issue doesn't work for me.
A warrior keeps death on the mind from the moment of their first breath to the moment of their last.
