The name doesn't mean as much as you claim it does.

 

 

Sonic and the Secret Rings in particular sold pretty but it was also an original game while Mario Strikers and Mario Sluggers are in a long list of sports games.

Try comparing any recent Sonic game to Mario Kart, Mario Party 8, Mario Galaxy, or Smash Bros.

What's your point?  

Comes from a long list of kart games.

I didn't even think about that. But good point on why those in particular sold exceptionally well.
