Well, Konami isn't just going to keep shipping copies if the game stopped selling. Yet, we've seen them update their shipping from 3 million, to 3.5, to 4, to 4.5, and now to 4.75, and yet VGC's number has only gone up like 0.20M. Are you trying to tell me that Konami shipped near a million copies extra for no reason, and they're all just sitting on a shelf somewhere? Let me guess then, when Konami says they shipped 5.5M (maybe) and VGC still has it under 4M, you'll continue to say "you guys will never let this go"?

Your math fails you BMaker.... if the game had only sold (by VGC) 0.2mil over the 5 shipment figures you stated, then MGS4 would have been at 3.6 million sales when the Metal Gear series shipments were only at 3 million.
Also, you added a shipment figure.... Konami had shipped 3 million of the Metal Gear Brand by the end of Q1 (ends June 2008... so about 3 weeks of MGS4 included) Then by the next quarter it had increased to 4 million shipped, then 4.5 million by the end of December, and 4.75 as of the end of March.
So in that timeframe VGC has it [MGS4] selling just under 1.5 million, while the Metal Gear Shipments increased by 1.75 million..... is it really that hard to believe that 250k shipments were not of other metal gear games (particularly the essential collection, which sold ok in the period, and portable ops+, which wasn't far behind)
Perhaps you are right, perhaps it is a little undertracked, but there is no way to prove it from what information Konami has given us that is for sure, and at the most the undertracking is 200-300k

First off....it was an exaggeration showing that no matter how much Konami says they shipped, VGC numbers stay relatively the same.
And...having been at 3.93 for well over a month, maybe even 2, I guess MGS4 sold 100k out of the blue last week, because it's at 4.03M now
