Great. Car companies are struggling and more standards are being enacted. I really don't think this will help much. In fact - I think it will end up harming progress toward the future. I wish cars still got 10-11 mpg because I believe new transportation technology would have been a more pressing issue. If gas goes up to 4.00 dollars a gallon again but most small cars get close to 40mpg I think the outcry for electric would be less than if most cars got around 25mpg. The article lacks specifics but I really don't like the move. I think we are prolonging the inevitable.
