I think exactly thats the point of this thread: Nothing really happened. The differences are so vast that all the major bets of this Generation are already placed. In fact it is very probable that a price cut of the PS-3 wouldn't change anything.
There will only be a limited set of HD Games and most of them will be on both plattforms in nearly the same quality with slight advantages to the Xbox360. The problem for the PS-3 will be that most cost reserves were already realized. Its most important cost point would be the crossing of 200$ but you shouldn't be surprised if this won't happen in its lifetime. We are currently passing the halftime mark of 6this generation. The market situation for most software publishers is quite bad! The big guns no longer earn so much money that they can crossfinance the flops! This will play a much bigger role than a slight advantage of a few thousand consoles per week for this or that plattform.
You can bet that behind the scenes all companies are starting to work quite extensively on the next plattforms. The bigt problem: How can I get the most bang for the least amount of bucks?
