If the PS3 sells more units than the 360, does it win the console war?

I notice people say the Xbox beat the Gamecube simply because it sold about 2 million more units. However the Gamecube actually made money and moved a ton of Nintendo software. While the Xbox never made it out of the red. So in my opinion the Gamecube is hands down the winner.

So if the Playstation 3 somehow managed to outsell the 360 but never generates a profit, would you still consider it the winner?

Edit: Obviously I'm leaving out the Wii because it won the console in regards to sales and profits.
