Where did the OP mention the 360? How about we stop speculating on the 360 sales and concentrate on answering the question. I don't see why everytime something negative is brought up about the PS3 people always have to run in damage control mode and point to the 360. Sony do not aspire to be number 2, if we compare their sales to their aspirations we see against the Wii sales, then the PS3 is a complete and utter disaster in every regard. The Wii is a console that unlike the PS3 hasn't shed 25% off it's price within 3 years in desperate moves to sell units either.
If Sony were telling the truth about aiming for profitability for a while then they should bundle some software and price cut later in the year when more savings are made on costs. Any move right now on price would be a waste of time as the reason the 360 cut worked so well was the marketing drive they did at the same time which Sony is unlikely to be able to afford at this moment.
