I think both will cause an increase in members. E3 because guests will want to register to comment or discuss the new things they witnessed during E3. So you will see increase in registrations in that time. I think 2.0 will also see another increase although not as big because if the site has a cooler layout people will feel more compelled to register. Also if any of the 2.0 features involve better forum UI then that is going to drive up registrations at well.
Since here at Vgchartz many of us obsess over statistics and graphs, ioi would it be asking to much for you to post a graph showing like a year over year of forum registrations? SO we can see which events caused the greatest increase of registration/activity?
