Note that this number is about piracy in business corporations.

I don't think so, but there's no link so how can we know for sure?

The piracy rate of truly all PC software (with private use included) is a lot higher than 41%. Probably more like 80-90%.

What do you base that on?

My own habits, my friend's and aquintance's habits over the years and what I read on forums (and this is in a high income country like Sweden). We pirate on average 98%* PC stuff.

And knowing that China, Russia, rest of Eastern Europe are much worse, of course it's just a joke that less than half of all PC software (like the 41% in the report) would be pirated/illegal. A big joke.

* 98% is an exaggeration. I'd estimate it to be 90-95%, representing all the people ive met through the years here in Sweden)

I say it's only 5-10% and that 41% iss bullshit, just based on people I know and their friends over the last several years.

I get your point (anecdotal evidence) but u're just being nasty here. Why don't you try to be honest instead? U are a huge pirate urself and usually pirates arent alone, often they got a history of exhanging games long before internet & broadband (if they're old enuff).

Plus ur from Eastern Europe so u shuld really know how common it is.

I mean, this is just stupid to argue about (that only 41% of all PC software is pirated is just laughable, the true number is of course way higher than that). I mean, I'm one of the more "honest" guys among the ppl Ive met through the years (afterall, I have paid for over a dozen PC games over the years), trying to suggest things like 'yeah, one shuld perhaps buy games at least to support the developers?' but friends/peers/relatives/skool buddies/others mostly laugh when u say such things. Of course you pirate if you can, is how ppl think in Sweden. And since this is an extremely rich country, it's probably the same all over the world (in the US tp a lesser extent though).

NJ5, it's like.. don't u have any friends IRL??
(rethorical question, of course u have friends, and ur even in the business, as i understand it u work with programming, so of course u know how commin it is. No one living in Sweden can miss how big piracy is, so I know u are just debating for the sake of it)
